Andy and I now share the bed with my new body pillow which is helping with the little aches in the hips and knees. It is huge and I feel it should have a name but naming your body pillow just feels wrong so I won’t do it. It’s wonderful though. It’s not too big and so far neither of us have fallen off the bed yet because of it. After a few more inches in my belly, it might be a different story… Andy found it at Ikea for only $9.99 and I recommend it for any pregnant woman. It’s not one of the complex, wrap all around your body types. It’s just an extra long pillow and it’s my friend.
Speaking of Ikea, I got Andy to Ikea for the first time two weekends ago. I didn’t realize this but I think subconsciously this had become a major goal of mine to get him in that store. With a baby on the way, and the fact that my dad was going along with the group as well (a.k.a another man) we got him to experience the glory of Ikea. We found some great stuff for the baby’s room and I feel good about the direction we are headed with it all. I think we finally have enough storage in that room and it was all so cheap!! Stand-alone wardrobe for $19.99 AND an ice cream cone for 99 cents? Am I in Heaven?
Best discovery of the Ikea trip was finding out the origin of my $12 dresser from the yard sale a month ago. We walked into one of the kid room displays and one of my family members says “you know this would match up pretty good with that dresser you found”. I thought to myself, “Yes, indeed it would”. Upon further inspection, I noticed the drawer pulls were exactly the same and I grabbed the piece of paper with the information on the set and sure enough this was the family of my dresser. $12 dresser was no longer an orphan! I love the whole set and we will probably fill in the pieces eventually once we find a more permanent home after grad school but for now, it’s just nice to know where it all is. I was able to get replacement handles for our broken two on the dresser (for free) and now the room is really starting to come together.
And by the way. The dresser’s original price at Ikea: $169.
“Erica you are just amazing. What a deal! You must be an awesome person because you saved so much money at a yard sale.”
“Well, I don’t mean to flatter myself…..but yes. I am.”
I decided to go out on a limb for the decorating idea and I ordered these wall stickers off Ebay from some company in Israel. They came in last week and I adore them. They are still flattening out from the trip across the world in the rolled up canister but here is a shot of them.
What you see is a giraffe, an elephant, and a rhinoceros. On the sides are small birds and two branches with leaves. Aren’t they neat?
28 weeks and all’s well. I am sure I will be posting more. I’m in a posting mood today.
LOVE the decorations! Blueberry's room is going to be so classy!
